Korean Export of Stainless Steel HR Products in January Had a Sharp Decrease of 29.1%

It is reported that the Korean export of stainless steel hot rolled products was 43,163 tons in January, a sharp decrease of 29.1% year-on-year, reaching the lowest level in the past 14 months. In addition, the average export price is around US$1,835/ton, also down by US$154/ton from December.

On the other hand, South East Asia is the main region of the export of stainless steel HR products from Korea around 75%, followed by North East Asia about 22%. According to report, the total export volume to South East Asia from Korea was 32175 tons, with 12480 tons to Vietnam and 7134 tons to Taiwan.

For the stainless steel 300 series and 400 series, the export volumes were around 19229 tons and 23886 tons respectively from Korea in January.
